Gauges

Dad wanted to get a tuner for his truck but did not have gauges. After seeing mine he decided to go with the pillar pod and with the tranny temp, boost, and pyro, but with Autometer Z-Series instead of the ISSPro’s like I had. After looking around and the experience I had with putting mine together I suggested we go with a fully pre assembled setup that is already mounted to a factory pillar cover and painted. This way all we had to do was take his out and snap the gauges in place once the wiring was ready. We got online and ordered a full set from Bob Riley at www.dieselsite.com They take one to two weeks to arrive because they have to be put together, but its well worth the wait and money.  Dad and Jeff mounted them while I was at work so I took the pictures after they were installed.

Boost gauge is hooked up with a T inline with the map sensor. The 6.0 uses the Variable Vane turbo so there is no boost relief valve to screw up the readings.

Tranny temp in the test port on the driver side above the second pan bolt. This is the Touqueshift tranny but the location is similar to the 4R100 that is behind the 7.3

Pyro was mounted in the exhaust manifold. Drilled and tapped with a 1/4 inch NPT tap. Start with small bits and work up to the bigger bit, this way the shavings are very small.

The Autometers do not have external box’s like the ISSPro’s do so they just get wired to an ignition source, the customer access wires under the dash work for that, white with blue. Then connect the gauge lights to the dimmer sire, blue with red trace

The Z-Series matched up real well with the 2003 factory gauges and the paint was a dead on match to the Ford Parchment grey.

We went with the 60 pound boost for future upgrades. He has the SCT Xcalibrator2 but I dont have any boost or EGT numbers that its making yet.

They turned out real nice and dad is very happy with them. Ill get some night shots next chance I get.
